Volunteering for us

If you are interested in volunteering for us then please download and read the CHAT Trust volunteering policy which outlines our principles as regards recruiting and retaining volunteers.

All potential CHAT Trust volunteers will be invited to the Trust's building at 250 Philip Street to be interviewed informally by the Trust's Development Officer.

All potential CHAT Trust Volunteers are required to fill out an application form and the Trust requires that you provide details of two referees who have known you for 6 months or more and who are not family members. All current volunteering opportunities require a DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) check as Volunteers will be working with either children and young people or vulnerable adults.

Following the receipt of satisfactory references and DBS clearance volunteers will have a full induction before joining the Project or Service rotas.

CHAT Trust expects that retained Volunteers will commit to a minimum of 6 months in their role. Relevant training is given.
